Mangold has set up a research laboratory at the university hospital for pediatrics in Vienna, Austria
(crg) It's not a secret that Mangold International has turned into a full service system provider for the area of behavioral research since long. Tailor made solutions based on the INTERACT software and especially designed laboratories become more and more popular - all around the world.
Based on this long term experience Mangold International has been able to set up a complex lab in next to no time at the university hospital for pediatrics in Vienna. The department Intermediate care (head Dr. Nadja Haiden) belongs to the division of neonatology, intensive medicine and inborn disorders of Prof. Dr. Arnold Pollak. Theey are thrilled about a lab, which is equipped with the latest technology now.
Even during the ongoing construction process of the whole department a team of Mangold International worked hand in hand with the engineers on site.
The lab is a real novelty at the hospital. Exploring and observing behavioral data can now be realized on a very high level. By using the hard- and software solutions of Mangold International the users are able to gain new insights during the interaction diagnostic of mother and child.
For this purpose, two nearly identical equipped observation rooms are available now. Each room can be observed with several remote controllable cameras. During setup it was very important, to take care that all relevant places can be observed by the cameras (diaper changing table, premature infant bed, sofa for the parents).
Real time recording the video- and audio signals on two PC workstations and remote controlling the cameras takes place in a close-by monitoring room. Thus a trouble-free analysis is always possible - even if booth rooms parent/child are occupied.
For the analysis of the recorded video footage several licenses of the Mangold software INTERACT are used. The sequence analysis and Hightlicht Movie Creator add-on modules are completing the setup of an excellent equipped laboratory.
"Installing such a complex system in that short period and during the ongoing construction process was really a challenge. Nevertheless, the project team finished the setup in time offering a full delivery of all components without any technical problems.
